દિવાળી પુરી થઈ. આવી કીડી વેગે અને ગઈ ઘોડા વેગે.
ઘરના બધા ભાતભાતનું ખાઈને ધરાઈ ગયા હતા. આજે
શાંતિથી ઘરે જમવાનું મળશે તેના વિચારમા ગાડી ચલાવતો
મયંક દાળની સોડમ અનુભવી રહ્યો હતો.
મયંકઃ હાશ છેલ્લા અઠવાડિયાથી દિવાળીનું જમીને ધરાઈ ગયો છું.
માલિનીઃ હું પણ રાંધીને થાકી ગઈ છું. રવીવારે લીનાને ત્યાંથી ડબ્બામા
લાવી હતી તે બધું ગરમ કર્યું છે.
મયંકઃ એક પણ શબ્દ બોલ્યા વગર ભૂખ નથી કહીને ઉઠ્યો. પથારીમાં
જઈ ગોદડું ઓઢીને સૂઈ ગયો.
રાતના બે વાગે. ચૂપકીથી રસોડામા આવી દૂધ અને સીરીયલની મોજ
માણી રહ્યો.
